Benjamin Mendy to have surgery on ruptured knee ligament

Fabian Delph continues at left-back in the absence of Benjamin Mendy, who underwent surgery on Friday in a bid to cure the ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, and Gabriel Jesus leads the line in place of Sergio Aguero, who is sidelined after a road accident.

Mendy seemed in strong spirit despite the injury and tweeted he was joining Loan FC.

"Bad news guys, I'm going to join the CF Injury for a few months with a rupture of the ligament earlier..."

Guardiola suggested on Monday that Mendy still had a chance of featuring in the midweek Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk, but the defender was actually pictured on crutches at the game.

It's not been a good 24 hours for Pep and City!

Samsung Galaxy X FFOLED Certified In Korea!
The foldable Samsung Galaxy X will, without a doubt, be one of the most interesting handsets to launch for a while. The foldable Galaxy X phone missed its rumored Q3 launch and certainly did not come out ahead of the Galaxy Note8.

"I don't know, we will wait until Thursday, but I am pretty sure it will be longer than we would like, unfortunately".

Mendy has made five appearances in all competitions for City in 2017-18, providing one assist. "So now I don't think it's time to think about that".

The Frenchman, who was beginning to show signs of promise in the English top flight, was injured in the first half of City's 5-0 demolition of Crystal Palace last weekend.

Before the injury, Mendy's ability to attack at pace along the flank, coupled with a risky delivery, had made City a more potent proposition than last term.

The Spaniard was asked whether he would consider looking for a replacement left-back in January and replied: "We will see in January".
